Unless otherwise noted, meetings begin at 7:15 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in St. Theresa's Deacon Hall. (It's about 1/4 mile west of the blinker in the center of Harvard.) Please bring plenty of business cards and brochures to share. Newcomers might want to check the Meetings page for an outline of the evening's agenda. Invite a friend!

Thursday, September 20th, 2007 7:15 pm: Organizational Systems with professional organizer Judith Guertin, of All Ways Organized, LLC.  This lively presentation focuses on the "Three-Legged Stool" (environment/facilities, paper management, and time management) and will address concerns such as: “I'm buried in paper, I'm constantly being interrupted, I feel like I'm spinning my wheels and not being productive enough, I'm too busy working in my business to work on it, etc.  Help is on the way!"HANDOUTS from the WBN September meeting:   Those wishing copies of the handouts from Judith Guertin’s presentation on Organizational Tips from the September meeting, should contact Judith directly at  jfguertin@comcast.net and she will send  them to you.

Thursday, October 11th, 2007 7:15pm SPECIAL EVENT   Networking for Career Success with Diane Darling, author, speaker, and entrepreneur.  Ms. Darling has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle and NBC Nightly News. Her two books published by McGraw-Hill are translated into 6 languages.   The fastest, most cost effective way to get things done is to have others help you. People in your network are key to your success and vice versa. Learn tips and techniques that can be immediately implemented in this action oriented talk.

An informal networking and buffet lunch in the relaxing setting of the Fruitlands Museums, Harvard. Thursday, January 10th  2008 Thursday, January 10th, 7:15 pm- Business Challenges - Small group discussions addressing the business challenges WBN members face in our small businesses and professional practices. Sue Jackson of Harvard Art will coordinate the event. This meeting is designed for members to raise issues, get to know each other, and gain from others‚ experiences and ideas in brainstorming sessions. Think about what issue you  want to address in your small group. As part of your 30 second introduction, tell us about a success or accomplishment from 2007 and a resolution or goal for 2008.

NEW -  Soup Swap
(optional participation)  - Beat the winter doldrums and be nurtured/nurture another WBN member by making and swapping a quart container of soup.  A perfect remedy for the home office working lunch. If you choose to participate, bring your soup in a non-returnable container (frozen or not) to the February 14th evening meeting. Label it with your business card and identify the kind of soup.  Indicate whether your soup is vegetarian or not.  Swaps will be made by random number.  If you don’t feel like cooking/participating, come to the meeting anyway! !  It’s our Valentine’s gift to each other.

 Thursday, February 14th  "Are You Listening?" with Jan Stewart and Karen Scibinico, partners in Emerge with Coaching.  This interactive and lively program will improve your listening skills and enhance the success of your personal and business relationships.  Learn to be a focused listener and keep the other person’s agenda in mind. Develop insights that will help you assess the impact you are having on those around you.

Tuesday, February 26th at noon. Annual connections Luncheon, Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center, Westford. Bring a friend, whether she’s in business or not.  A great way to connect with others in an informal atmosphere. Pre-reservation/pre-payment ($13.75) is required. Thursday, March 13th, 7:15 pm. Roundtable workshops and networking meeting.
Participants will select a topic of choice from the list of options. Each table will have a facilitator. Topics and facilitators will be posted before the meeting.  (Previous years’ have included marketing, time management, organization strategies, home/work balance.  Suggestions to topics are welcome. Thursday, April 10th, 7:15 p.m.: “The Hidden Power in Power Tools” with Marie Leonard. An inspirational talk about how taking on and succeeding at any size home improvement project can lead to personal empowerment.  Marie Leonard of Marie's Home Improvement will weave in stories from her own life, anecdotes from her women customers and “how to” demonstrations that will get you thinking, leave you laughing and have you reaching for your own tool belt.


Thursday May 8th 7:15 pm   Spend an evening with Lord & Taylor Personal Shopper, Sarah Venier.  If you're ever frustrated by shopping in department stores and trying on clothes, or if you're just plain fed up with your wardrobe, Sarah can help!  She will share her insights on the importance of pulling together a "core wardrobe",  dressing authentically, and feeling great about what we wear for business, professional and leisure occasions.  You will leave
with some fresh ideas for your spring wardrobe, too!

Thursday, June 12th, Annual Pot Luck dinner - 6:30 start time, Friendly Crossways Hostel, Littleton County Rd in Harvard

Join us for a year-end celebration of work well done, networking and a chance to get to know each other better.  Bring a food contribution of appetizer, main course, salad, or dessert.  Please label your dish with your business card and bring a serving utensil for it.  Remember to bring your business cards and brochures for display and distribution as the WBN supply will not be available.  RSVP by Tuesday, June 10.
