247 Littleton County Road, Harvard, MA
From South (Boxboro, southern 495)
Take Rte 111 (exit 28) and follow Rte 111 north/west towards
Harvard. Once you cross into Harvard (just after the Boxboro
Office Park on the left) start to look for Littleton County
Rd. It will be the first right turn in Harvard off Rte 111.
The road makes an almost immediate sharp left bend. Stay on
Littleton County Rd. for about 2–3 miles. You will come
to a fork in the road about a half mile up — bear right
to stay on Littleton County. Go past the turn-offs (left side
of road) for Cleaves Rd. and Old Schoolhouse Hill Rd. Number
247 will be on the left hand side and the number is clearly
visible on a hanging mailbox set slightly off the road. It's
a large rambling house and barn. It's pretty obvious once you
see it.
From Rte 2 or Rte 495 north:
Take Rte 2 west to exit 39 — Taylor St. Bear left off
the exit and go approximately ½ mile to Whitcomb Rd.
(next to the Nursery School) and turn left. Whitcomb Rd. turns
into Littleton County Rd. when Littleton becomes Harvard. It
is approximately 2 miles from the turn off Taylor St. to the
house and the house will be on the right hand side — again,
look for the number on the hanging mailbox. It's a large rambling
house and barn. It's pretty obvious once you see it.
Hildreth
House
From
blinking light in Harvard Center:
Continue north on Route 110 up hill, pass the common on left
and Elm Street.
Turn left at the "Private Way, Hildreth House" sign,
just past the Town Hall (white building) on left.
Enter between stone posts (mounds), pass to right of Fire Station.
Curve right up hill through the woods.
Hildreth House is an old gray clapboard house with porch/veranda.
[The entrance for Hildreth House and these other town buildings
is between Harvard Center and the Hillside Garage on Route 110.]
(To Harvard Center, take Route 495 to Exit 28. Proceed West/North
on Route 111 for just over two miles)
